Talks scheduled to sort out Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future…

Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set for crunch talks with Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis as the club looks to sort out the 24-year-old’s future, Sky Sports News report.

The Ox is out of contract in 12 months and unlike the Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil situations, it doesn’t seem like the club is prepared to allow the midfielder to run his contract down.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with Oxlade-Chamberlain, though their interest puts his discontent into a sharp focus as to what the former Saints academy graduate’s preference is.

He’s made no secret of his desire to play in central-midfield, yet it seems Chelsea view the speedster as a replacement for Victor Moses at right-wing back.

It’s where Wenger has deployed Oxlade-Chamberlain since our shift to a back three which has allowed him to enjoy regular first-team action.

It’s difficult to see The Ox displacing the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Tiemoue Bakayoyo and N’Golo Kante at he heart of the champions’ midfield.

We should hear the outcome of this meeting this week with only days remaining of the window, and failure from the No.15 to commit his future could see him end his six-year stay.

Check out the report on the situation above.
