Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka netted a sensational brace to further enhance his reputation as the U23s thrashed Manchester City 5-1.
The 17-year-old has amazed the coaching staff at the club with his rise to stardom and is now considered too good to play at U18s level.
Freddie Ljungberg promoted him to the reserve squad and he’s shone this season, which has even earned him call-up’s to the first-team on a few occasions.
“He was supposed to play with the U18s this season and I think, sorry to say, he was better than that,” the Swedish legend told Football London.
“What is good with him is everybody listens but he takes in information. For instance, a lot of wingers will run [straight] up when you press instead of going in another direction, killing an angle so you can go again and have a better chance to intercept the ball because you have the full-back where you want him.
“Stuff like that is really difficult but he’s learning really quickly. It amazes me as a coach.”
Saka was handed his full first-team debut in the Europa League against Qarabag and he produced a sensational display, getting fans off their feet with many mazy runs.
The devastating winger looks to be the next one up from the famed Hale End Academy and given his position, we could certainly do with a player of that quality in the wide positions.
