ArsenalFanTV Panel Discuss Arsenal’s Campaign: Have We Progressed?

So, the season is very much over for Arsenal and while most of the focus is inevitably on the column inches to see the potential comings and goings this summer, the close season is also a time for reflection.

Analysing our points total over the past three seasons, we’re certainly on a downward spiral. 79 points in 13/14, 77 points in 14/15 and 71 points this season.

Despite the depressing nature of those numbers, we’ve finished a place higher in each of those campaigns which certainly raises the question as to whether or not we’ve progressed.

Personally, progress should be judged on a club’s points total throughout the season, any other metric is pretty flawed. Our points total each season is solely dependent on us while the position in the table is a result of our performances in relation to our rivals.
