Arsene Wenger On His Future: My Preference Is To Stay, But I’ll See How The Situation Is

Arsene Wenger future in question…
Arsene Wenger was once again quizzed on his future after our 5-0 victory over Lincoln City in the FA Cup quarter-finals at the Emirates Stadium as we booked another date at Wembley.
Wenger, as we all know, is in the final months of his deal and has yet to make a decision publically as to whether he’ll extend his 20-year tenure.
The Frenchman has always claimed that he wants to see how he performs before signing the extension and given the run we’re currently on, it’s hard to see how he justifies a new contract.
However, Wenger once again reiterated that staying at Arsenal is his preference.
“I try to serve this club with complete commitment, and I will do that as long as I’m here,” Wenger told BT Sport.
“I think I have shown a lot of loyalty and my preference is here, but I’ve repeated that many times.
“It’s not conditional, it’s just how I feel the situation is.”
Wenger’s commitment is unquestionable, but the fact that he keeps repeating it suggests he feels that should be one of the metrics the board should judge him on.
Every manager in world football is committed to their jobs, especially those who can barely sleep after a defeat given the reality of being sacked at other clubs – just as Claudio Ranieri.
Results on the pitch should decide Wenger’s future, just as it does every other manager in the world.
