After getting past Blackpool in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, the League Cup draw immediately after threw up an intriguing fixture- the north London derby.

We face Spurs on a soon-to-be date in December for the right to compete in a two-legged semi-final for the right to compete for the first major trophy of the season.

We’re at home once again for the quarter-final tie, our third consecutive home draw in the Carabao Cup which will give us the advantage – especially with no replay.

It will mean that we face our arch enemies twice in a matter of weeks at the Emirates Stadium, given that we host Mauricio Pochettino’s men on December, 2nd for our Premier League clash.

It’s our first meeting against Spurs in this competition since 2015, a match which saw a Mathieu Flamini brace claim a 2-1 win at White Hart Lane.

It will be interesting to see how serious both managers take this match with the busy winter schedule to prepare for shortly after.
