Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger bemoaned the “lack of experience” in the side after we were blown away by Chelsea which has surely ended our title hopes.

Wenger played the same XI which defeated Chelsea comfortably in September, apart from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in midfield instead of Cazorla, but the boss clearly felt that was a mismatch.

The Frenchman admitted that N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic overpowered our side and it gave us memories of our damaging defeats at Stamford Bridge at the time.

“We had the right attitude but we lacked a bit experience,” Wenger told Sky Sports.

“Maybe even our experienced players were not at their best individually today.”

Wenger is clearly referring to the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez who are embroiled in contract talks where they’re asking for astronomical sums of money.

As the weeks go by, our superstar duo must show that they can deliver on the biggest of stages to earn such salaries.

Check out Wenger’s full take on the defeat in the video above.
