Dani Ceballos is a big fan of Lacazette and singled him out for praise…
Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos is loving life in north London and after speaking about his Gunners teammates, the 23-year-old singled out Alexandre Lacazette as the best in the squad, The Guardian reports.
Ceballos has turned into a bit of a cult hero at the club following his man of the match display against Burnley last month as he demonstrated what we’ve been missing in recent years.
Since the departure of Santi Cazorla, we’ve lacked a creative force from a deeper midfield position, and Ceballos seems at his best when playing in the No. 8 position.
After speaking on life in London and how he’s aiming to settle in off the pitch, the Spanish international gave the lowdown on his new teammates.
Despite the arrival of our record signing in Nicolas Pepe for £72m, Lacazette is the man who’s caught Ceballos’ eye.
“We’ve got a very good, compact side and the three up front really make the difference,” the former Real Betis star was quoted as saying.
“You can compare [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang to Cristiano [Ronaldo] when he was at Madrid in the sense that he plays close to the goal, he lives for scoring.
“He’s very important for us, fundamental. [Nicolas] Pépé is very direct. And [Alexandre] Lacazette, for me, is the best player: he understands the game perfectly and, if he’s 100%, he’s going to give us so much.”
Lacazette produced a sensational solo goal that got us back into the north London derby in our last outing, confirming his position as the club’s best finisher.
He’s started the season on the bench due to a niggling ankle injury and with reports suggesting that the club are currently in talks to extend his deal, we could have ‘Laca’ as our No.9 for a few more years.
