Danny Welbeck Reveals Training Routine To Improve Finishing

Danny Welbeck has scored three goals in four games…

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has revealed the training drills which has allowed him to improve his finishing this season with the forward currently on a hot streak.

Welbeck has netted three goals in four Premier League games, with his double against Bournemouth handing us a comfortable 3-0 victory.

The 27-year-old has been ridiculed for his profligacy in front of goal, though Welbeck has admitted that he’s performing “repetitions” in training to perfect certain finishes.

Welbeck stated that his second goal was a result of that after he slid the ball rather effortlessly past Asmir Begovic.

“The second is one that, once you’ve been hitting those repetitions in training, it becomes a lot easier for you to do,” Welbeck told Arsenal Player.

“I got into that position today and I didn’t think twice about it.”

Welbeck has already surpassed his tally from last season and while he was recovering from a serious injury last term, it still shows the growth in his development as a forward.

The former Man United man has never been tasked with being the main striker at a top club and it seems that’ll never be his calling, but he can definitely be a serious support act to Alexandre Lacazette.

If we’re to launch any sort of title challenge, we need to find goals from multiple sources.

Ahead of next week’s trip to Chelsea, it will be interesting to see if Welbeck keeps his place ahead of Alexis Sanchez.
