Ian Wright feels Mesut Ozil was on-song against Bournemouth…

Arsenal legend Ian Wright seems to have extended the olive branch to Mesut Ozil after he commended him for his display against Bournemouth.

The two have been undergoing a war of words amongst the fallout from that disastrous display at Anfield a fortnight ago.

Wrighty, among other Arsenal heroes, were personally calling out a few players for their perceived lack of effort which prompted Ozil to release a statement in response to the former players.

Our second highest goalscorer of all time then took to his radio show on BBC Radio 5 Live to respond to Ozil, claiming that the German should be focussing on extending his contract instead of posting heartfelt statements on social media.

However, during his analysis on Match of the Day, Wrighty had some positive words for Ozil.

“Well played today,” Wright said on Match of the Day after being asked if had a message for Ozil.

“Bournemouth is not where Arsenal are going to get judged, next week against Chelsea is where they’ll be judged.”

That basically sums up the feeling among Arsenal fans at the moment. There are too many big teams in this league and we cannot afford to relinquish points whenever we meet them.

We travel to Chelsea and Everton in the coming months ahead, and we need to start taking points at our rivals’ grounds.
