Ian Wright lets rip into Arsenal’s squad players…
Arsenal legend Ian Wright lamented the number of deadwood players currently residing at the club despite not contributing much to the team.
Arsene Wenger decided to start Rob Holding ahead of Calum Chambers against the champions Leicester City, a decision Wright feels seals Chambers’ future away from Arsenal.
Chambers himself arrived two years ago as a ‘prospect’, but it seems that Wenger has moved on from that specific project and sees Holding as the better player.
“For me, Calum Chambers should be looking to move on,” Wrighty said.
“They stay around the club for a very long time, and we ain’t getting anywhere. Start moving players on!”
Wrighty, an avid Arsenal fans as well as a legendary player, will no doubt have his views echoed by many fans.
However, in Wenger’s eyes, each departure will have to be replaced and we’ve all witnessed his reluctance to spend in the transfer market.
