Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta received a triple injury boost as Oleksandr Zinchenko, Mohamed Elneny and Bukayo Saka took part in full training ahead of the Europa League clash against FC Zurich.

Elneny trained with the squad before the game against Nottingham Forest but didn’t make the matchday squad given how long he’s been sidelined.

Zinchenko has been absent since suffering a recurring calf injury during last month’s north London derby and has been gradually brought back to full fitness.

Saka suffered an injury during Sunday’s win against Forest and limped off midway through the first half to the horror of the Gunners faithful.

However, following comments made by Mikel Arteta post-match indicating that the forward had pain from a kick, many hoped it wasn’t too bad.

That has since been confirmed with the 21-year-old in contention to face Zurich as we look to consolidate our place as group winners.

Having said that, Saka should hopefully be given the day off and keep him fresh for the fast turnaround after the game as we travel to Stamford Bridge on Sunday lunchtime.

Zinchenko may be too short for Thursday’s game and I would imagine the medical staff will have trepidation about putting him in so quickly after resuming training.

Elneny should start in midfield, which would allow us to rest both Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey.
