Jack Wilshere Reveals He’s In Talks “With A Few Different Clubs”

Jack Wilshere reveals that talks are ongoing about him joining a club, but it’s not Arsenal…

Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed that he is in talks with a few clubs as he looks to return to professional football, but admitted a return to the Emirates is improbable, talkSPORT reports.

Wilshere has been training with Mikel Arteta’s squad since October while also undergoing his coaching badges with the club’s development squads.

The 30-year-old was invited to travel with the team for their warm-weather training camp in Dubai, a sign of his current fitness levels.

With the squad decimated in recent weeks, especially in midfield, Arteta never once felt the urge to entertain a short-term deal for Wilshere.

Now, with the former England international in talks to join a new club, he accepts his dream of an Arsenal return is unrealistic.

“I’ll give you something, I’m talking to a few different clubs,” Wilshere told talkSPORT.

Wilshere revealed that none of the clubs he’s talking to are in England, and stated that he’ll know more “in the next few days.”

Asked if it’s unlikely he’ll return to Arsenal despite his desire, the former Hale End graduate said: “Yes.”

In fairness to Arteta, he’s always maintained that the club was here to help his former teammate on his journey back into football, providing him with top-level facilities and training to increase his sharpness.

Also, the benefit of obtaining his coaching badges gives him another tool that can be used whenever he decides to call an end to his career.

Should any move materialise with the clubs Wilshere is in talks with, the last few months at Arsenal will have proven to be invaluable.
