Kevin Prince-Boateng details how his career could’ve taken a different path…
Former Barcelona midfielder Kevin Prince-Boateng revealed that he could’ve joined Arsenal at the beginning of his career in a move engineered by Arsene Wenger, he told FIVE.
Boateng began his career in Germany and made his way through the ranks at Hertha Berlin’s academy and it was there that he caught the attention of Arsenal.
The Ghana international stated that a youth tournament prompted an Arsenal scout to approach him and his representatives to register an interest.
Boateng admitted that while the proposal was attractive, his family wasn’t keen on him uprooting so early in his career and so he decided to stay in Berlin.
“Back in the day when I was 17, I could have joined Arsenal,” Boateng admitted.

“This guy came to talk to me, but my mom and brothers were like no. I stayed in Berlin. I was playing for the German U-18, and this guy came to me that he is an Arsenal scout and that Arsenal were interested, but my mom and brothers were like it’s too early,” the former Milan star added.
Boateng would still end up in north London a few years later, thought he was on the wrong side after Spurs secured his services. His time there was rather forgettable and it was at Fratton Park that the dynamic midfielder began making a name for himself.
