Kieran Gibbs vows to never forget boyhood club…

Kieran Gibbs vowed to never forget his time at Arsenal after making the move to West Bromwich Albion a day before the window shut.

Gibbs’ future has been in question ever since the arrival of Sead Kolasinac this summer, and a move to Watford seemed close to completion last week.

However, the two parties failed to agree on personal terms, leaving it wide open for Tony Pulis to reignite his interest in the England international.

Gibbs, who’s been at Arsenal since the age of eight, supported the club his entire life and was our first-choice left-back after we sold Gael Clichy in 2011.

However, injuries and loss of form meant that Arsene Wenger brought Nacho Monreal to the club two years later, and the Spaniard quickly assumed the role.

Gibbs has been nothing short of a stellar professional over these past few years, stepping into the team when needed and producing top class displays.

Having featured heavily in the cup run, it was a surprise to see him dropped from the squad for the final, something which may have been the final straw in his mind.

“I’m sure I’ll have time to look back on those years,” Gibbs told West Brom’s website.

“Unfortunately at the time now, we’re already into the season so it’s difficult to do that.

“Arsenal will always remain in my heart, but like I said there’s a right time for everything and I’ll look back on that when the time’s right.”
