Fulham boss Marco Silva is confident his side can get a result against Arsenal for the second time this season as he prepares for the visit of Mikel Arteta’s side on Sunday.
Silva noted that he’s one of three managers who’s picked up points at the Emirates Stadium this season and, with the Gunners still reeling from a midweek defeat to West Ham, the Portuguese coach is looking to exploit weaknesses he’s identified.
Arteta will be aiming to get the team back on track following a run of one league win in four games as we surrendered the top spot to Liverpool.
With a spate of favourable-looking fixtures looming before the league leaders come to the Emirates Stadium, we really need to start putting a run together.
Craven Cottage is the first destination and three points is the aim as we look to arrest this slump and end 2023 at the summit of the Premier League.
“They are a really strong side, some weaknesses they have we’ll try to explore,” Silva told FulhamFC.com.
“We have shown this season already that we can match them.
“Before the West Ham result it was just us and Tottenham to take points from Arsenal at home, which shows that we know how to match them and play against them and we know what to do.
“For sure we have to play at our best level because we can then compete with Arsenal.”
Fulham don’t play in a similar style to West Ham and there will be spaces to exploit, though our forwards need to come to the party this weekend.
The pressure on our defensive department to keep a clean sheet for us to get a result is too great and we need to start taking advantage of our dominance in games.
