Reiss Nelson being eyed for a loan move…

Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson is attracting interest from Wolves and Sevilla as they look to take the 24-year-old on loan in January, though that’s not a deal the club will entertain, CBS Sports reports.

Nelson has been short on Premier League minutes this term despite signing a new long-term contract last summer following the expiration of his deal.

The Hale End graduate could’ve walked away for free in June but decided to remain at the club, though some have wondered what he was promised given that his first-team chances haven’t improved.

With Gabriel Martinelli struggling this season in terms of his attacking output, it speaks volumes about Mikel Arteta’s lack of trust in Nelson that he’s yet to start a game.

The Spaniard also exclusively turns to Leandro Trossard as his first option off the bench when we need a change, despite the Belgian’s lack of explosiveness.

According to the report, Wolves and Sevilla are interested in a loan deal for the rest of the season, though Nelson is leaning towards fighting for his place in north London.

While a loan deal doesn’t benefit us, there will be a decision to make should a serious offer come in for him given the FFP boost we could receive.

Academy talents account for ‘pure profit’ in the financial books which would allow is to spend considerably in the January window should Arteta and the hierarchy choose to do so.
