Mesut Ozil stopped short of committing his future to Arsenal while in Dubai and instead claimed that his focus was now on the European Championships in France.

Ozil, who stressed that he still has two years left on his contract, said that he will weigh up his options after the Euros before deciding whether or not to pen-to-paper on a lavish new deal.

“I still have 2 years contract with Arsenal, as you know, & we will be in talks with the club & we’ll see what happens in the future,” the German wizard was quoted as saying in the clip above.

“A lot of things must go right, one factor is injuries & we have to focus more, & focus on getting stronger players.”

Judging by these comments, it seems as though Ozil is waiting for the club to show ambition in the transfer market and rectify the areas we are clearly weak in.

Given that he’s now entering the prime years of his career, it’s only right that Ozil demands that a club of our stature proves that it’s ready to compete with Europe’s best.
