Mikel Arteta is happy with his strike force…

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has provided his backing for his strike force amid external opinions that the Spaniard needs to invest in a new forward if we’re to win the league, via HaytersTV.

Arteta is currently without both of his central strikers as Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah nurse ankle and hamstring injuries, respectively.

Jesus has been absent since his sensational display at Sevilla last month, though the 26-year-old’s issue isn’t thought to be a long-term one, illustrated by his provisional inclusion in the latest Brazil squad.

Nketiah hobbled off at St James’s Park last weekend and wasn’t included in the matchday squad as we took Sevilla apart at the Emirates Stadium.

The aforementioned duo have only scored six goals between them this season in the Premier League, leading to the theory that Arteta must improve in that area.

“That they are great and I’m so happy to have them,” Arteta professed when asked about his striker options.

“For me, they are the best in the world. That’s my assessment.

“I would love to have them all (fit), but at the moment not but maybe in two weeks the picture will change and it will be better. But, as well, it’s an opportunity for the rest to shine.”

Leandro Trossard is certainly one who’s taking Arteta’s challenge on board after the Belgian produced a sensational display against the Europa League holders.

Trossard thrived in the ‘false 9′ role left vacant due to Jesus’ absence, with the former Brighton man constantly combining with the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

With Nketiah looking likely to be back in the squad, it will be interesting to see if the 28-year-old keeps his place against Burnley.
