Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville were reunited on Monday Night Football and the two discussed the issues at Arsenal after our opening day defeat against Liverpool.

We have been rather inactive in the transfer market despite our desperate needs in certain areas of the squad, particularly at centre-back which was so brutally exposed by Liverpool’s attack.

20-year-old Rob Holding, who’d never even been to London before we signed him, was handed his debut and was clearly out of his depth.

Carragher believes the Arsenal fans’ booing on the opening day was as a result of familiar failings playing out in front of them once again, while Neville wants Wenger to accept that football has changed and to start investing in his squad.
