Ex-Arsenal Man: Arteta Has Brought ‘Swag’ Back To Arsenal

Philippe Senderos is a fan of the culture Arteta has created…

Former Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos has praised the culture Mikel Arteta has created at the club and has credited him for bringing back the club’s “swag”, talkSPORT reports.

Arteta is heading into his fourth full season as Gunners boss and after last season’s meteoric rise in the league as we challenged champions Manchester City until the final weeks, expectations are high for the Spaniard.

The club have backed the Spaniard with a record summer spending spree with Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice through the door, with the loan signing of David Raya set to follow.

Senderos is backing the club to compete and he’s happy to see an Arsenal team that he recognises.

“With the way that Mikel Arteta manages, you can see that the players do what he wants them to do,” the former Swiss international was quoted as saying.

“They have found that swag again, that type of Arsenal style that we want to see and we have seen that in the last year.

“There is a real culture that he has brought back to the club.

“When you go around the training ground, I have had a chance to go back, you can see pictures of what happened in the past, you can really see something is going on that creates a bond with the players.”

Interestingly, Senderos and Arteta are former teammates – though their time together took place at Everton months before the former Man City coach joined the club in 2011.

Arsenal start the season at home to Nottingham Forest and we owe them some payback given that our title run ended at the City Ground.

Getting off to a good start is of paramount importance as we look to build momentum in the first few weeks of the campaign.
