Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey looks set to join Bayern Munich with the German giants said to be confident that they’ve won the race for his signature, The Independent reports.

Ramsey is available on a free transfer in June after the club decided to retract their offer for the Welshman despite his readiness to extend his deal.

The 27-year-old has been locked in negotiations with the club for almost 12 months and with a deal seemingly close to being agreed, talks halted and a decision was made.

Ramsey is currently our longest-serving player though his importance to the team has rather dwindled in recent weeks as Unai Emery sieves through the squad.

The midfielder hasn’t started a league game since our away trip to Cardiff October, which indirectly explains why the club are no longer interested in offering Ramsey a huge contract.

In terms of the links to Bayern, Ramsey is free to negotiate outside of England from January the first, though one would imagine the club have granted him permission to start those talks earlier.

Ramsey has always appeared to be a player who wasn’t going to be afraid of playing abroad, and landing a deal at Bayern would represent an impressive career-move.

The German giants are in decline with an ageing squad, and adding a smart Bosman move could start a revolution.
