Rob Holding entertains fans by revealing what he said to Diego Costa…

Arsenal defender Rob Holding has finally revealed the exact words he said to Diego Costa in the FA Cup final when the two clashed in a clip that has since gone viral.

Holding came of age in that game, stepping in the midst of a defensive injury crisis and produced a masterclass to keep the Chelsea striker at bay for most of the game.

Per Mertesacker has since revealed that he and Holding adopted a “good cop, bad cop” tactic to shackle Costa, with the former Bolton man being rather devilish in his approach.

Speaking a Q&A with fans at Member’s Day which took place at the Emirates Stadium, Holding was asked by host Tom Watt exactly what was said.

“An expletive, then I just called him a nutter basically,” Holding said.

“Something’s not right in his head I don’t think.

“I knew what he was going to play like, I knew he was going to try the mind games and try and throw me off my game, so I just didn’t rise to it and got back into position.”

Holding was alongside David Ospina, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin to answer fans’ questions.

The former Bolton man’s words about Costa can be found at the 06:30 mark of the video above.

He said a while back that he spent some time in digs in London with a few other guys when he first arrived. I suppose he’s a quick learner. Easier when you’re young!
