Sead Kolasinac Preparing To Face Jese Three Years After Inflicting Serious Injury

Sead Kolasinac will be reunited with Jese…

Sead Kolasinac is preparing to face Jese this weekend three years after his tackle led to a serious injury for the Spaniard which cost him his Real Madrid career.

In a season in which Jese was the direct backup to Karim Benzema after Real Madrid had sold Alvaro Morata to Juventus, the 24-year-old wasn’t able to make an impression.

Kolasinac, who was with Schalke, crashed into Jese in the last moments of a Champions League tie at the Bernabeu, something journalist Paolo Bandini feels adds to the subplots of the clash.

“It was Kolasinac who was responsible for that injury in 2014,” Bandini said on BBC Radio 5 live.

“It’s one of those where it was clumsy rather than malicious and it was the second leg of a Champions League tie.

“It was a totally meaningless moment and Kolasinac comes into the side of him quite hard and his knee goes.”

Kolasinac has already established a reputation as being one of the strongest players in the Premier League following his powerful displays in pre-season as well as the Community Shield.

The incident in question can be seen above, and it will be interesting to see how the two players’ first encounter turns out.
