SkySportsNewsHQ have debunked reports emanating from their colleagues in Germany regarding the future of Shkodran Mustafi, claiming that a deal is far from done.

SkySportNews in Germany reported this morning that a deal was close to being finalised, even going as far as stating that personal terms between the player and Arsenal have been agreed.

Following the long-term injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel, a centre-back signing has been a priority and it seems that Mustafi is Arsene Wenger’s No.1 target.

The 24-year-old can play right across the back four and is regarded as one of the best up and coming defenders in Europe, having already won the World Cup with Germany.
