Arsenal’s medical staff have given us an update on the injury situation at the club ahead of our trip to Huddersfield on Saturday afternoon.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is back in full training after recovering from a fractured metatarsal which he picked up in our 2-0 defeat to Spurs in December’s Carabao Cup clash.

The injury came at a bad time for the Armenian just days after he netted a brace at Southampton and proved to be a goal threat from out wide.

It’s a position we’ve lacked depth in and with the arrival of Denis Suarez, we now have the numbers required for the remainder of the season.

Shkodran Mustafi’s injury which saw him exit the field of play at Manchester City isn’t deemed serious and he’s available to face the relegation candidates.

Granit Xhaka, who’s missed our last two Premier League fixtures with a groin injury, hasn’t fully recovered and is being assessed ahead of the clash.

Also, Maitland-Niles is in the same stage of his recovery process from the knee injury he picked up ahead of our win against Cardiff last week.

His absence has probably been the one which has impacted the squad the most given that it comes just as Unai Emery is left reeling from the season-ending injury picked by Hector Bellerin.

If the 21-year-old misses the clash at Huddersfield, Emery will have a choice between Stephan Lichsteiner and Carl Jenkinson as to who fills the right-back slot.
