Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey has announced that he’ll be joining Serie A giants Juventus when his contract expires in June to end an 11-year stay in north London.

Taking to Instagram to clarify the reports which initially surfaced by way of the oracle that is BBC Sport’s David Ornstein, the Welshman took the time out to thank the fans.

While his departure was inevitable after the club withdrew from negotiations and gave him the freedom to seek pastures new, the fact that it’s now been confirmed delivers a sombre moment.

Ramsey joined the club at the age of 17 from Cardiff and has been through a number of trials and tribulation over the past decade.

After a promising start to his Gunners career, his future as a professional footballer was hanging in the balance after one brainless tackle from ‘wannabe thug’ in Ryan Shawcross in 2010 broke his leg.

Ramsey’s leg was snapped in two; he would have to dig deep and prepare for the toughest test of his career. After a gruelling period which also included two loan spells at Nottingham Forrest and Cardiff respectively, the midfielder returned to become the player we’d hope he’d become.

The icing on the cake was his goal on that unforgettable afternoon at Wembley in 2014, where the 28-year-old ended our nine-year trophy drought with one swing of his gifted right foot.

Whether or not Ramsey goes down as a legend will undoubtedly be debated for years to come, but one’s thing for sure – he’s etched his name in Arsenal’s history.

Check out his statement in the post below.
