Arsene Wenger On Transfers: We Are Looking At Defenders & Forwards

Arsene Wenger gives an update on our transfer window…

Arsene Wenger stressed after our pre-season friendly in Lens that we remain very active in the transfer market and claimed that he’s looking to strengthen both ends of the pitch.

Despite Ivan Gazidis’s comments this week, in which he appeared to state that our window has closed, Wenger contradicted his colleague and was more forthcoming.

Wenger blamed our inactivity on clubs showing their poker faces and refusing to do business, though that hasn’t necessarily stopped other clubs concluding deals.

“We might have to be good at poker,” Wenger told Arsenal Player.

There seems to always be obstacles for us to conclude deals that other clubs tend to avoid, which may hint at a flaw in our recruitment policy.
