Yaya Toure Includes Thierry Henry in his Ultimate XI…

Yaya Toure was a guest on Monday Night Football and was asked to produce an ultimate XI of players he’s played alongside, and Arsenal icon Thierry Henry made the cut.

Toure has played alongside some sensational players and the former Man City man needed to get rather creative with his formation to fit all the talent in.

Henry and Toure played together at Barcelona and had a major role in that infamous 2008/09 season when Pep Guardiola led the Catalan side to a sensational treble.

That Barcelona side is widely regarded as the best club side we’ve ever seen, and the aforementioned duo contributed heavily in that campaign.

Ironically, Henry and Toure were played out of position by Guardiola despite their huge profiles in the world of football, such was the manager’s genius.

Henry played on the left of a front three, while Toure was deployed at centre-back alongside Gerard Pique to make way for deep-lying playmaker Sergio Busquets.

“When Henry was at Arsenal, I think he was one of the best strikers in the world. Barcelona, at that time it was Samuel Eto’o, Ronaldinho, Messi and Deco,” the Ivorian told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.

“Sometimes you have to accept, when he came to Spain he was just normal because of those around him. The era I really enjoyed Thierry was in 2009 when we got to the Champions League final.

“We won six trophies in the world. That’s when I think he was one of the best.”

Henry ended the campaign with 26 goals in all competitions and getting his hands on the one trophy which eluded him during his career, the Champions League.

Check out the video above as Toure discusses his choices.
