Alexis Sanchez speaks out…

Alexis Sanchez has thrown his future into further doubt after stating that it’s his ambition to play Champions League football and potentially win it.

Alexis is currently embroiled in a contract dispute with the club and has so far refused to extend his deal which expires in 12 months time, something that’s put us in quite the predicament.

Manchester City have been heavily linked with a move for the 28-year-old, although Pep Guardiola’s side are yet to make an offer and have a raft of options in the forward positions.

Arsene Wenger has remained consistent in his policy not to sell Alexis and is even prepared to let him walk away for free next summer given how important he is to the side.

However, as many feared, it seems Alexis is prepared to force a move.

“The truth is that the decision doesn’t depend on me,” Alexis told Chilean media while on holiday.

“I have made my decision, but now we wait for a response from Arsenal. It depends on them, I have to wait to know what they want.

“My idea is to play and win the Champions League, it is a dream I have had since I was little.”

The club needs to stand firm in this situation, there’s literally no amount of money which would make selling Alexis a viable option.

If there was a viable replacement available for us to directly replace the former Barcelona man with, then maybe selling him wouldn’t be the worst idea, but that’s not the case.
