Arsenal star Mesut Ozil produced a moment of magic with that wand of a left foot as he caressed a volley into the top corner to hand us all three points against Newcastle United.

It was a cagey affair throughout with the players aiming to get our league form back on track following a run of three games without a win.

Our impeccable home form was also impeached last time out with that unusual game against Manchester United, and the mental impact of that game was evident throughout.

The atmosphere among the crowd was tense with many worried given that we once again failed to kill off an opponent at home despite dominating the game.

Ozil, despite the criticism labelled at him, has really stood up to be counted in recent months and one wonders where we’d be without his match-winning performances.

In August, many would’ve preferred keeping Alexis Sanchez over Ozil – if we had a choice between the two – though Ozil has certainly transformed into the leader of the team.
