Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has suggested that we shouldn’t get too used to seeing him as a wing-back, with the 23-year-old still eyeing a central midfield berth.

Speaking after helping us secure a record 13th FA Cup, the Ox produced another fine display at wing-back, this time operating from the left to make room for Hector Bellerin.

He was equally as efficient in that role and completely bullied his counterpart Victor Moses out of the game, with the Chelsea man getting himself sent off.

After former Manchester United man Rio Ferdinand told the Ox that he may have finally found his position at Arsenal, he didn’t seem too convinced.

“I don’t know, really,” the former Saints man replied.

“Playing for a team like Arsenal, it ends up being more of a right-wing job. I get the ball from deeper and the plays into my hands more.

“But, the centre mid role… I’ve always wanted to be Steven Gerrard, so I’ve still got a hope of that!”

Given that he was in the company of another unique former Premier League midfielder in Robbie Savage, the Ox had a ‘savage-like’ response to his objection.

Savage aimed to put our No.15 on the spot by enquiring: “Not me?”

The Ox was having none of it: “No, I’m sorry Robbie. Unfortunately not, mate!”

Wherever Ox is played, we just hope his long-term future is sorted out this summer after what’s been a career-changing few months for the speedster.
