ESPN’s Craig Burley laid into Arsenal after our win against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday after being annoyed at the claims that we’re now ‘back in the title race’.

The former Chelsea midfielder referred to Arsenal fans as “soft” given how some reacted to the heavy criticism we received following our back-to-back defeats to Everton and Manchester City.

It always seems like we’re handled rather harshly in the press when we have a hiccup on the pitch compared to the leeway afforded to other clubs.

After winning 1-0 against a stubborn West Brom side, fans feel like we’re still in touching distance of Chelsea, something Burley finds laughable.

“They are soft, some of the Arsenal fans, they start crying about things,” Burley said on ESPN FC.

“All of a sudden, they’re back in the title race – nine points! I didn’t know you were in it in the first place.”

Burley will only fuel the feeling among us fans the those in the mainstream media are out to get us with comments like that.

The punditry industry is awash with our rivals’ ex-players and they never seem to hide the disdain they have for our club.
