Olivier Giroud has finally settled the debate regarding his scorpion goal last month after claiming that his effort was better than Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s strike.

The two Premier League stars netted similar strikes in a matter of days and it sent the internet into a fierce debate regarding which goal was better.

Mkhitaryan’s goal should’ve been ruled out for offside while Giroud’s was slightly more difficult to pull off given the nature of Alexis Sanchez’s poor pass.

The main has finally had his say and he’s claiming the title of the ‘Scorpion King’.

“I don’t know if I was inspired (by Mkhitaryan’s goal), but it was destiny,” Giroud told Soccer AM.

“He did very well as well, but I think mine is better.”

The Frenchman is on a hot streak at the moment after netting in five consecutive league games, but Giroud may have to sit out for a few weeks after suffering an ankle knock against Swansea City.
