Declan Rice issues rallying cry…

Arsenal star Declan Rice has issued a rallying cry after the Gunners suffered back-t0-back defeats in the league which saw us slip to fourth in the table, the midfielder told Sky Sports.

Speaking after our defeat against Fulham having produced our worst performance under Mikel Arteta in the Premier League for some time, Rice called for calm.

Despite slipping to fourth, we only remain two points off league leaders Liverpool who host Newcastle United on Monday with a chance to pull further away.

However, ahead of the winter break and a chance to regroup, Rice urged the team to focus on improving and returning to the form which saw us head to the summit of the league.

“We’ve been doing really well, we have been at the top of the table and that is where we want to be,” the 24-year-old was quoted as saying.

“It’s a blip in the road but there is no time to panic. There are still so many games to go and we have to stay positive, there is no time to be negative.

“We have a great manager, great players and we will keep going.”

Fans have been worried about our fluency all season but were prepared to overlook it should results keep coming as the team aims to end our 20-year drought for the Premier League.

However, following the week we’ve had, the level of performance we’ve produced will now come into sharp focus as many continue to drop below their levels.

Our forward line is definitely falling short of the levels they set last term, with Saka our top scorer with six league goals after his goal at Craven Cottage ended a barren run.

There’s plenty for Mikel Arteta and his coaching team to ponder during their warm-weather camp in Dubai next month.
