Arsene Wenger gave the biggest hint yet that this may be his final season as Arsenal manager with the Frenchman entering his 20th campaign as Arsenal boss.
Speaking to SkySportsNewsHQ, Wenger was asked about his future given that he’s entering the final year of his contract and with no sign of an extension in the near future.
The boss suffered some hefty criticism from our supporters last season after failing to deliver a title which was eventually won by Leicester City.
12 years on from our last league triumph, Wenger is still looking to build a sustained title challenge.
“You never know,” Wenger told Dave Jones of Sky Sports.
“This is a love story that you do like it will last your whole life, but know as well that it can stop at any moment.”
Wenger has previously said that once he decides to call it a day, it will be an abrupt decision and one he’ll not take too much time to think about.
One can only hope that he gives Ivan Gazidis a heads up in any case, in order for us to be best prepared for a crucial period in the club’s history.
