Dani Ceballos enjoyed a sensational home debut against Burnley…

Dani Ceballos spoke of how proud he was to receive a standing ovation from the Arsenal faithful as he was withdrawn following a sensational performance on his home debut against Burnley, the Spaniard told Arsenal Player.

The 22-year-old, who’s on a season-long loan from Real Madrid, ended the game with two assists and a passing accuracy of 90%, demonstrating his dominant display.

We’ve longed for a central midfielder who could control the tempo of the game in each third of the pitch, and Ceballos had fans wishing an ‘option to buy’ clause was included in his loan by the end of the match.

Ceballos’ corner found Alexandre Lacazette in the box for the first goal, with the Frenchman turning cleverly and bulldozing the ball past Nick Pope in the Burnley goal.

For the winner, the Spaniard hunted possession down after being dispossessed and the ball found its way to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the Gabonese star did the rest.

“For me, it is a great pride,” Ceballos said about the reception he received.

“I really want this year to truly demonstrate the football that I have inside. I have a lot of enthusiasm for this season and to be able to give a lot of joy to these people.

“The confidence they have in me, I want to return it to them with my performances.

“The truth is that for me it has been one of the most special days of my life,” the Spanish international concluded.

Ceballos was supposedly still regaining match fitness following a stuttering pre-season which saw him pick up an ankle knock at Barcelona a fortnight ago.

It begs the question as to the level he can reach once he reaches pick fitness and is partnered alongside some of the players currently absent from proceedings.
