Kevin Campbell is backing Aubameyang to succeed at Arsenal…

Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell believes that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can emulate Gunners icon Thierry Henry after his impressive display against Watford.

Our record signing netted one, but could’ve easily had a hat-trick with the timing of his runs and his explosive pace causing the visitors problems all afternoon.

Given that he made his name in France, and that he’s a tall striker with explosive pace coupled with an amazing goal record, the comparisons with Henry were inevitable.

Aubameyang has also taken-on the famed No.14 shirt, and Campbell feels he has it in him to reach those heights.

“For me, Aubameyang is going to prove himself at the club – big time!” Campbell told Astro SuperSport when asked if the Gabon international can live up the legendary shirt number he’s wearing.

“Because this team and this club has to progress and he’s going to play a big part in that, or else they wouldn’t have brought him here.”

Aubameyang has endured a stop-start beginning to his Gunners career due to his ineligibility in the Europa League, which makes his league record rather respectable.

He’s scored three goals in five league games and if he carries on that form, he could realistically finish as our top scorer given how poor our forwards have been this season.
