Gabriel Jesus not worried about his profligacy…

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus appeared unbothered when asked about his mini goal drought as the Brazilian held court ahead of our Europa League clash against PSV, HaytersTV reports.

Jesus, our marquee summer signing, got off to a blistering start to the season as he continued his pre-season form, scoring five times in his first eight Premier League games.

However, the former Manchester City man hasn’t found the net in all competitions since the north London derby with questions now being asked about his consistency in front of goal.

The 25-year-old’s ability to lead the line was the cause of much debate during the summer, with Pep Guardiola mainly fielding him as a wide player.

The champions brought in Erling Haaland as their striker, which paved the way for Jesus to rejoin Mikel Arteta with the Gunners boss convinced that he can become a prolific No.9.

While Jesus is still getting chances – be it ones he created for himself or those laid on for him – he’s finding it hard to put them away.

“That has happened before and I’m pretty sure in the future, it is going to happen again. That’s football,” Jesus said.

“I don’t want it to be like this, of course. I want to improve, I want to work, like always in my life, and then next game, I will try again.

“I’m 100 per cent sure I will score.”

Though Jesus’ start at the club was frightening, it would’ve been unwise to expect him to maintain that form throughout the season. Nothing in the forward’s previous record suggested he could do that.

However, the former Palmeiras star could certainly do better with some of the opportunities that have come his way and is perhaps snatching at his chances.

Jesus should’ve walked away with at least a goal in each of our last two Premier League games. But, as the man said himself, he will score again.
