Thierry Henry speaks on his new role as Belgium’s assistant manager…
Thierry Henry has spoken publically for the first time since being appointed Belgium’s assistant manager alongside new boss Roberto Martinez.
The former Everton boss was a shock appointment for the Belgian FA and has since added to the surprise by bringing Henry with him following his controversial exit from Arsenal.
It was reported during the summer that Thierry Henry was offered a position as assistant manager of the Arsenal U23 side by Andries Jonker, but that was blocked by Arsene Wenger.
Despite his ability to combine roles, Wenger felt that it was a conflict of interest for Henry to scrutinise the performances of the first-team squad while on Sky, and then face them during the week at London Colney.

Henry released the above statement regarding his departure and has since landed a more challenging role and is clearly looking forward to it.
