Thierry Henry and his Sky Sports pundits criticised Arsene Wenger’s lack of desire to spend following our opening day defeat to Liverpool.

Only one summer signing started the game for us, 20-year-old Rob Holding – a £2m arrival from League One side Bolton.

We’ve been linked with a number of players throughout the summer, but very little has come off and it seems to boil down to Wenger’s reluctance to pay the asking price.
